What Makes You The Biggest Loser?

Is that You???

I was watching the NBC show last night called “The biggest Loser” and that’s how I got inspired by this new topic: “What Makes You The Biggest Loser?” What actually fascinated me a lot was not only the high expectations the trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper had for their teams but also how demanding they were with their teams to have results.  After only couple of weeks, people already lost 20 lbs, 30 lbs, even 40 lbs. Matter of fact, one has lost more than 11 lbs last week. So there are ordinary people, who day after day felt ashamed about their shapes and somehow couldn’t reverse the process to change everything and once on a TV reality and led by an expert in the field, their lives CHANGE. Why the impossible is now becoming possible? What can make you the biggest loser?

Before I start aligning the bullets, let me be clear on what the “biggest loser” really is. The biggest loser is actually the one who does his very best and goes the extra-mile  to exceed his expectations by losing most of his bad habits and turn his life around to experience a breakthrough. In other words, the biggest loser is the greatest winner. On the NBC show it’s related to weight loss. However, whatever your field of interest is, you can adapt the term biggest loser to it.

Now, here is what can make you the biggest loser:

  • WHY? – It’s now proven, you cannot experience a breakthrough and turn your life around if you do not know WHY you want to do this. Tony Robbins, the worldwide motivational guru, introduce himself as a why-guy because he said: “the key to unlimited power is behind the WHY”. The WHY is basically the emotional reason behind the actions you plan to take. It can be as simple and as deep as trying to make a family member proud or showing a skeptic that he/she was wrong about you. It can be a win or die thing or a make it or lose it. Whatever it is for you, the WHY must be strong enough to push you to move mountains. About 10 months ago, I did work for two months in a row 17 hours straight every other day because I wanted to pay for my now wife’s engagement ring. I did it because I wanted that ring to represent the very best of me at the time of the purchase.
  • Be proud of your goal – Once you have the “why” and you have your SMART (Specific-Measurable-Achievable-Realistic-Time oriented) goal written down, you need to stand up for it and be proud of it. Don’t be scared to tell the world what you are planning to accomplish. It’s crazy the number of people who actually give up on their goals and dreams even before starting to work on it because they are ashamed or scared of what others might think or say about it. If your goal is backed up with a STRONG WHY then just charge forward. If it turns out to be a great idea, then good and if not then that’s good too because it shows that you finish what you start and that is a great quality to be proud of.
  • Join a relevant network – Napoleon Hill calls it the mastermind group, the group of people who have a common goal and act like supporters. They are frank and reliable, they always level with you, and the mindset in that group is result oriented. If you want to lose weight, stop spending 80% of your time with people who don’t care or do not want to lose weight. Rather, go and find new friends that share the same goal with at least a commitment to succeed equal to yours and who are positive and fun to be with.
  • Grab a Coach/Expert – You cannot do it all by yourself otherwise you wouldn’t have been on the non-appreciated situation. There are people out there whose job is to take you to success. They are expert on their field and have you get results is what they do. People like Valerie Orsoni-Vauthey, Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper when it comes to weight loss, people like Rory Vaden when it comes to Self-Discipline, people Dustin Hillis when it comes to Sales, people like Ron Marks when it comes to business management, people like Max-Marc Fossouo or Keith Ferrazzi when it comes to Professional Relationships Development. If you need help to find a coach, send me an email at max.fossouo@act2be.com I’ll be glad to help.

To be the biggest loser or let’s say the greatest winner, you need to fight every single day, it’s just not going to happen overnight. If you want success, you have to reach out and grab it; no one is going to hand it out to you. Act to be!

  1. Love the article. But could it be that people do not want to share their plans/dreams with others for fear they will fail and people will make fun of them? Others like to make fun of those who fail because it gives them power over those who have failed.
